The four-day discovery scholarship was designed as a small academy. Under the curation of Thomas Richter, various workshops were offered, framed by lectures and exhibition visits. In the workshop I organised, the aim was to find the area of a motif together. For this purpose, large canvases (1.5 x 6 m) were placed in urban surroundings in such a way that the background could be easily frottaged with the help of paint rollers and emulsion paint. The resulting pictures were on the one hand an impression of the urban environment and on the other a reflection of the joint communication and negotiation about the motif to be selected.
Das viertägige discover Stipendium ist wie eine kleine Akademie konzipiert worden. Unter der kuratorischen Leitung von Thomas Richter haben verschiedene Workshops stattgefunden, die mit Vorträgen und Ausstellungsbesuchen gerahmt wurden. In dem von mir konzipierten Workshop ging es um das gemeinsame Finden eines Bildausschnitts. Hierfür wurden große Leinwände (1,5 x 6 m) in der Stadtumgebung so platziert, das sich der Untergrund mithilfe von Farbrollen und Dispersionsfarbe leicht frottagieren ließ. Die entstanden Bilder waren einerseits Abdruck der städtischen Umgebung und andererseits Abbild der gemeinsamen Kommunikation und Verhandlung über das auszuwählende Motiv.
